Lee
Lee Roy Selmon has a history that combines family scholarship football with community service. The first family is his youngest of nine children of Lucious Selmon and Jessie. The family lived on a farm at Eufala, Oklahoma. Also, he was one of three siblings who represented Oklahoma in football. All three were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy has won both the Outland Award and the Lombardi Award as the best lineman in the country. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. Also, they won the national title twice. In his role as a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received the opportunity to receive a scholarship in his third year in the year 1975. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in education. Lee Roy's fourth volunteer service consisted of ten hours a week of volunteer time in the college. Following college, he relocated in Tampa and played nine years with the Buccaneers. He made the All-Pro for three occasions. Then he started his career. By 1988 he had become an Account Relation Officer at Tampa's First Florida Bank and worked with these groups: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute on the Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 the Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as being among 10 of the most notable young males. While a student Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighs a little over 256 lbs. He captained his college team in the year 1975. In 1993, he became the assistant director of Athletics at the University of South Florida. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1988 the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994, and then the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. The Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented its Distinguished American Award for 1989 to Lucious Selmon, Sr. Henry Bellmon, the governor of Oklahoma presented it.
