Paula Patton is an actress and producer well-known for her leading roles in the action film Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol as well as the dramatic film Precious. She was born into a middle-class household in Los Angeles, she harboured big dreams as a child. Her mom was obsessed with films and was able to instill an interest in films in her daughter. Paula was involved with her school's cocurricular activities and particularly awed by drama. She enjoyed acting in stage plays together with her fellow students. Hamilton Magnet Arts High School offered her numerous opportunities to act during her high school years and she decided to pursue acting for a profession. She attended an acting program at the University of Southern California for an intensive summer program and was enthralled by the experience. She was awarded an assignment by PBS to make documentaries for a period of three months. As soon as she completed the three-month assignment successfully Her first assignment was working in the production department for television documentaries. After that, she began producing documentaries. Although she enjoyed what she did but she was always wishing for being an actor. The path to acting began when she had a minor role alongside Will Smith in the romantic comedy Hitch. Since then she has appeared on many TV and film shows.
